PLEASE READ THE BELOW CAREFULLY

Things we'll need in place BEFORE the design process starts

If you haven’t bought the name of your website we will do this for you. It’s important to consider search engine optimisation when choosing a some domain names; to help Google find you. We’ll make suggestions and if the domain you want is taken already, let us see what we can do.

We can provide you with our own FREE hosting using our own hosting service but if you prefer to have your own service provider, maybe you’re savey in that department and want to have full control of those tools. Our main objective is to keep things simple and consistent.

We advise sorting out your SSL certificate first before we start adding any content, we would obtain your SSL certificate through our service provider if you were to use our service. You don’t have to have one but if you intend to use your website for a transactional purpose we would strongly recommend you do so. Also having a SSL Certificate improves your SEO ratings with Google and other search engines.

Having a backup system for your websites is also strongly recommended, you might never have to use it but what for a few quid it’s peace of mind that with a few clicks you can fully restore your website if you’re unlucky hacked or you decided to change something and break the site.

Having security for your website is also something for your peace of mind, especially if you’re going to be dealing with customer details such as bank & credit details. Protecting your customers should be high up on your list of must have features to your websites especially if you’re going to run an E-commerce store.

Information we’ll need from you before we start your designs

It’s always handy for us to know your business story before we begin your website, it helps us understand your ethos and helps us convey the right style and direction for your design. Also I would imagine your customers or clients would like to know also on your abou page if you’re going to have one.

Having your own branding and logo before hand will save us a lot of time at the beginning stages of the design, it’s the core aspect of your website design and should be clearly thought out before. We can help out in this area by passing you onto our branding & marketing team.

If you have clear and colourful branding then we can use that as our base but if you have a favourite sub font you would like us to use then please use this time to let us know before the build process. It would also be helpful to let us know what fonts were used with your banding.

This part is important as it’ll be the main information that your customers/clients will see. Have you thought about how you would like to come across, have you researched your target market, are you saying the right keywords your customers are looking for? We can help in some areas of spelling and punctuation, but remember you’re the expert in your field, sell it to us also.

Images are also important, especially if what you’re selling is a product or has a visual aspect to convey your service. Please only provide hi-res images of quality, if you need help sourcing hi-res images we can buy them for you but we will have to charge you. I would avoid using copyrighted images from google. Most WordPress templates will come with hi-res images, so matching your business type to a theme might be a good idea when we’re choosing.

Straight forward here, if you could provide us with your business address, business emails, Phone numbers, linked in accounts etc Everything you want your customers to contact you for enquiries.

All your business social media accounts so we can link them to your social buttons

The emails you would like to receive email on from your website contact form

What information would you like to receive from your clients e.g. Address, First & Second Name, Phone Number, Email? We can also add checkboxes to specific subjects your customers want to receive information on e.g SEO, Web Design, Graphic Design etc.

Build style & Development

We would need a discussion on essentially what do you want the site to do? This can be done over the phone or via email, however you feel most comfortable doing.

Features could include responsive items moving on the page e.g. images sliding or fading in from a direction, a curtain layout you would like to use to explain a product or service you provide, anchor hooks and buttons, headers to have a curtain purpose, call to action.

If you have seen something on another website you would like to use then please do send us cuttings, URLs links to visual show us what you mean if you’re struggling with the terminology. We actually prefer this type of communication.

If you’re looking for a more custom design and you know what you’re looking for then we prefer to build your design from scratch using adobe XD, this way we can get to look in a quicker way then going straight into WordPress. We can change things and also go back to previous designs without losing any work.

Testing features like your contact form will be done at this stage to make sure you’re up and running and that your emails will go through to your main inboxes.

At this stage I would suggest a phone call to make sure we’re all on the same page and that your vision is being fulfilled.

The end-stage of the website build

We accept that at this stage there will be edits and a possible re-think on a few things, it’s all part and parcel of development and trial and error.

A second draft will be sent out and all loose ends will be tied up around this stage.
